You'll stay 7 nights in a 3 to 5-star hotel, with most options rated 4 stars. Hotels are located mainly in or near Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira's UNESCO World Heritage city, close to the historic center, restaurants and the marina, with some seaside options elsewhere on the island, such as Praia da Vitória.

You'll have 8 free days to explore Terceira at your own pace, starting on your arrival day. Walk the historic center of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage city, and climb Monte Brasil for views over the bay. Go inside the Algar do Carvão volcanic chimney, swim in the natural lava pools of Biscoitos and watch the sunset from Serra do Cume.

Tours and a rental car are not included, but our team can help you add them to reach these places.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued, but the Azores Getaways team will always check with the airline to explore options. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.

Yes. The package price is based on two travellers sharing a room, so solo travellers pay a single supplement. To check solo pricing, change guests from 2 to 1 in the booking calendar before clicking See Dates and Prices, or contact the Azores Getaways team and we'll make it easy.

Travel insurance is not included but strongly recommended. US travellers will need to arrange travel insurance independently through a provider of their choice, ideally with cancellation and medical cover. Contact the Azores Getaways team for guidance.

The Azores are part of Portugal and the Schengen Area. US passport holders currently do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. It is the traveler's responsibility to check current documentation and safety requirements on the US Department of State’s official travel website before departure.  ETIAS is not yet mandatory for Schengen entry; we will notify you when that changes.

Terceira has no active travel advisories and is considered safe.

Starting November 3, 2026, all passengers flying to the United States, or connecting through U.S. territory, must hand in a signed declaration at check-in. This applies to U.S. citizens too. It confirms you have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 21 days before your flight. Download the form from the CDC website, fill it in, sign it and date it with your travel date. Passengers without a completed form may be denied boarding, so we recommend arriving at the airport with extra time. Requirements can change, so please check the CDC page before you travel.
